Staff from St Mary’s Hospice and supporters including Josh and a team from Sterling dared to brave the challenge of Born Survivor at the weekend. Tackling the 18 obstacles throughout a 5k or 10k course challengers endured 74 mph mud slides, fire jumps and mud pits amongst others, all whilst raising funds for St Mary’s Hospice.
Helen Carlson, Head of Income Generation at St Mary’s Hospice: “I was bowled over by the positivity, endurance and the camaraderie shown by all those taking part. One of the hardest aspects of the challenge was the cold but it was overcome with tenacity and a lot of team effort. A huge thank you to everyone who took part for St Mary’s. It’s certainly one to join in 2024!”
Nikki, Practice Educator/ Infection Prevention and Control Lead: “It was a fantastic day made all the better doing it with my amazing work colleagues. We all worked together to help each other over the obstacles and had such a giggle. I’m looking forward to the next one!”
Tracy, Health Care Assistant: “I had one of the best and most challenging days with these! We started as a team, worked as a team and finished as a team. Makes us proud to work at St Mary’s Hospice. Bring on next year!”
