Pc Lettings share their story on how they are investing locally and supporting St Mary’s Hospice: “it is not something the community can afford to lose.”
We are Pc Lettings Ltd a specialist residential letting agents covering all Ulverston, Barrow and Dalton areas. Living here with our families Steven Squires and I (Shaun Dixon) work full time in the business ensuring we are always there when needed. We look after just under 800 homes locally with around 150 in and around Ulverston and the rest between Walney Island, Dalton, Barrow and surrounding areas. The core of our business is with Bae systems and the “key workers” who use the vessels made in Barrow. As our business has grown we have gained customers from all walks of life and from indeed all over the world.
With a team of eleven experienced staff we are small enough to react quickly yet large enough to have a significant marketing spend and we serve the whole lettings market. For landlords we can offer anything from individual legal services such as leases to a complete hands off managed service or anything in-between. With a hard won reputation for looking after tenants we have literally hundreds of long term tenants as well corporate clients using our shorter term and serviced accommodation.
Despite the restrictions 2020 has been one of our busiest years with customers literally waiting for houses and apartments to rent of almost all types. In fact it has become quite a challenge to keep up with demand and we remain keen to take on new property to rent throughout the area.
St. Mary’s Hospice as we see it is just part of the local community and as our business has not suffered terribly from Covid we feel now is a time to give a little help. Sadly hospice care is something most of our families will need at some time and it is not something the community can afford to lose.
Over the years most of our community support has been with The Royal Navy events, Bae systems graduate scheme or sport based via Ulverston Rugby, Barrow Afc, Furness Cricket, Barrow Thorns (Basketball) and children’s football teams. Whilst there is always a commercial aspect it’s true to say being able to do this gives us a great sense of achievement and satisfaction especially when times are tough. By supporting St. Mary’s Hospice we feel we investing in our own local community.
We would like to use the opportunity to wish all our customers, suppliers and contractors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
