Romilly’s challenge to raise funds in her Nana’s memory

A wonderful story from one of our young fundraisers:

“My name is Romilly, I am eight years old and I am the youngest of seven great grandchildren of Jennie Leitch, who sadly passed away last year at the age of 102. This is a picture of me and my big sister on Nana’s 100th birthday!

My Nana was a very kind and caring lady and I loved her very much and I miss her.

In her memory I am trying to raise £102 – one pound for every year of her life – to say thank you to two wonderful places who cared for her at the end of her life. Firstly, St Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston and secondly Boarbank Hall, Grange over Sands. In memory of my Nana’s remarkable 102 years I have designed my own ‘10.2 km triathlon’ and this Friday (1st October) (in what would have been Nana’s birthday week) I am going to try to run 5km, cycle 5km and swim 200m. Please sponsor me a couple of pounds for these two amazing places who cared for my lovely Nana. Thank you.”
