The team at Matt Johnson Prestige wanted to raise some funds for St Mary’s Hospice. Matt and Nicole’s son William came up with the idea of putting some sheep food in some bags on the Abbots Wood Trail. There is a charity box in the fence, so everyone is encouraged to have fun, feed the girls (the sheep are all girls) and pop some change in the box! Just 30 bags were put out over the Valentine’s weekend, but if the idea is popular then the family will carry it on.
Area Fundraiser Clare Paling says “We love simple but effective fundraising ideas like this. At a time when walking is one of the few things people can enjoy, it’s great to add activities like this to familiar walks to keep everyone interested. And all donations to the hospice are of course gratefully received. It’s brilliant when our young fundraisers thing of ideas that will appeal to their friends.”
