These extraordinary times have led our community to work together and be there for each other in extraordinary ways. St Mary’s Chief Exec Val Stangoe leads our gratitude with “We think you are amazing” to the award winning Shed 1 Distillery Limited Ulverston, who have switched from making gin to hand gel to help prioritise safety and our community’s needs during the Coronavirus Outbreak.
Shed 1’s Andy and Zoe (pictured above) have been working hard being the scenes and shared their activity on social media:
“Hello Everyone,
We’ve made our first batch of hand sanitiser. It is a fairly small batch and we’re gifting it to St Mary’s Hospice and other vulnerable groups within our area. We don’t have enough to sell to the general public, at this time, and ingredients are getting harder to obtain. However, we are going to do our best to continue to source and produce. If you would like to know more, please read the information on our Just Giving page.
Take care and stay safe.
Cheers, Andy & Zoe”
The hospice gratefully received the first batch today: “We really don’t know where to be-gin to thank you! But seriously thank you to Andy and Zoe for using your skills and facilities to help so many vulnerable people during this difficult time.”
