St Mary’s Hospice is delighted to receive a very generous donation of £1000 from the talented Bay Community Singers, a community choir group based in Grange-Over-Sands. The money donated, raised from a concert in December, will pay for the equivalent of 50 bereavement sessions, 40 Hospice at Home night sits or 100 homecooked meals for our patients.
Helen Carlson, Head of Fundraising at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “Everyone at St Mary’s would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the concert. Together we can and will continue to make a difference when it matters most, but we couldn’t do it without support from our local community, without community groups such as the Bay Community Singers.”
Susan Stilling from Bay Community Singers says: “”We are delighted to support St Mary’s hospice with their work, they offer a valuable service to the local community . Bay Community Singers wanted to show our gratitude towards the charity by doing what we do best , sharing joy, happiness and love through singing and performing.”
The choir meet during school term-time on Thursday evenings from 7pm until 9pm at the United Reformed Hall in Grange-over-Sands. Everyone is welcome to come along, regardless of experience and there are no auditions. Please email baycommunitysingers@gmail.com for more information
