Today is Thank You day at St Mary’s — where we call our loyal supporters and offer our thanks.
Head of Fundraising Helen Carlson explains why it’s so important: “Without the support of our community we simply wouldn’t exist. Eight out of every ten patients we see has their care paid for through the generosity of our sponsors and donors, and so once a year the team here spends a day making phone calls to say thank you.
“We always value the contributions we receive, however big or small, and we know, this year especially, just how hard it is for so many people in the current economic climate.”
“There’s no sales pitch or requests for additional support; the calls are simply a way for us to express our gratitude. It might be a volunteer, a member of the fundraising team, a member of our management team or even of our our board of trustees who calls. We find it so rewarding to have a conversation and the feedback is always really positive.
So, if you’re one of our donors and your phone rings today — we might just be calling to thank you.
