Kerry’s Story
My work with St Mary’s Hospice began in 2016 when I helped design the posters for St Mary’s Paws For Thought fundraising dog walk. Since then I have been involved in many marketing and retail projects to enhance the creativity and design. I have donated my skills and time to St Mary’s for free, which enables them to continue to cost effectively and professionally deliver the work that’s needed, and support messages and awareness in the community.
Kerry chose to support St Mary’s as we provided Hospice at Home care for her beloved dad Tony Wicks. Kerry and her sister Lisa were inspired by their dad to sign up for the Keswick to Barrow walk.
Kerry adds: “There was no way we weren’t going to do this and that kept us going!” Cheered on by their family, Kerry and Lisa raised a fantastic £3,040 for St Mary’s providing vital funding for our services to continue to be provided for patients and their loved ones.
Hospice at Home supported us, now it’s our privilege to support them. Keswick to Barrow was hard going, but not as hard as the journey we went on with our Dad. St Mary’s Hospice supplied our ‘angels’ and we cannot thank them enough. It’s just amazing they were there. It was just meant to be, they were there at the right time. It feels like angels were sent to us.
