Drop-in Groups
St Mary's supports Drop-in centers at Barrow, Ulverston and Grange which are intended to support people affected by serious progressive illnesses, including patients, carers, families, friends, the bereaved and anyone requiring information.
Not all problems are medical and some people don't always feel like talking to the doctor. It sometimes helps to share worries with someone who may have been through the same. The group sessions offer advice and support in a friendly environment so that people should not feel isolated or alone.
Barrow Drop-in patients and carers

Ulverston Drop-in patients and carers

Furness Breast Cancer Support Group
The Furness Breast Cancer Support Group aims to provide support for people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. We often have a speaker or a demonstration at the meeting. There will also be plenty of opportunity for informal chat over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. The group meets on the first Monday of each month (except when this falls on a bank holiday when it will be held on the second Monday) from 2pm to 4pm at St Mary's Hospice Social Care Center, Lesser Kings Hall, Hartington Street, Barrow-in-Furness. An informal meeting for prostate cancer sufferers and their families and friends.
