Spend a great day at this agricultural show which features competitions for the best in breed, show jumping and shire horse displays. There will also be marquees with a range of exhibitors including floral art, cookery, children's classes, craft, photography and art and charity organisations - including St Mary's Hospice!

Charity Race Night > 30 July 2010 | First Race starts 7.30pm Furness Cricket Club, Oxford Street, Barrow in Furness
Furness Cricket Club will be the scene of much fun and excitement when St Mary’s hosts its first Race Night. All those who attend will have their chance to put their racing skill and judgment against the odds, socialise, have lots of laughs and enjoy a great night out. All proceeds from the event will go to St Mary’s.

Cartmel Show > 4 August 2010 | 8am - 6pm Cartmel Racecourse
Cartmel Show is always a firm favourite with both visitors and locals. The Show offers a profusion of family entertainment packed into the picturesque parkland setting at Cartmel Racecourse. A traditional Country Show with its roots firmly within the agricultural community, Carmel Show provides the opportunity to sample the delights of rural life at its best. Look out for the St Mary's merchandise stall!

Help the Hospices & Morrisons Campaign > 9 - 15 August 2010 Morrisons Supermarket, Barrow in Furness
St Mary’s are delighted to be working closely with the Barrow in Furness Morrisons store. Since the official launch the store has raised £1759.33 for St Mary’s. So many local people have contributed to the Raise a Smile for Hospices campaign and supported St Mary’s through the bucket collections and other activities.
The summer fundraising campaign is about celebrating being with friends and family and raising awareness of the support hospices give to friends and families.

Lakeland Country Fair > 15 August 2010 | All Day Torver, near Coniston
The Lakeland Country Fair takes place at Torver, near Coniston, in beautiful countryside looking across to the Coniston fells and Coniston Old Man. The fair acts as a showcase for traditional Cumbrian skills and activities. The fair offers something for all the family - with trade stands, children's area, donkey rides, animal shows, competitions, climbing wall, licensed bar, home-made refreshments and a BBQ. Keep a look out for St Mary's Hospice!

Be entertained at the annual Hawkshead Show with horse classes, dog shows, hound trailing, children's pet classes, duck driving, show jumping and a wild bird display. Also browse the traditional craft and trade stalls featuring industrial produce and home baking, horticulture and floral art. Look out for St Mary's Hospice!

Millom and Broughton Agricultural Show > 28 August 2010 West Park, Broughton
Million and Broughton Agricultural Show gives the general public an opportunity to see rural life at its best. With all the cattle, sheep, poultry and horses there is plenty to entertain you all day. The traditional sport of Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling will feature, and the Furness Dog Agility Display Team return by popular demand.

Tour De Furness > 10 September 2010 Roose, Barrow in Furness
The ‘Tour de Furness’ charity cycle event is organised by the Rotary Club of Furness to raise money for the St Mary’s Hospice and other Rotary charities. The idea of the event is to get cyclists of all abilities joining in to have fun and raise money for local charity. There is a choice of three routes, from 5 to 50 miles to test your physical fitness, but remember, ‘this is not a race!’

Kendal Torchlight Carnival > 10 September 2010 Kendal Town Centre
At the Annual Kendal Torchlight Carnival, 100 floats and around 2,000 people make their way through the pretty market town, bearing burning torches in a spectacle featuring classic cars, folk dancers, street entertainers, marching bands, carthorses and costumed participants. This years theme is 'celebrations'. Look out for the St Mary's volunteers collecting pennies in their buckets!

Dickensian Festival > 27 - 28 November 2010 Ulverston Town Centre
Ulverston's 1850s style festival attracts 1,000s of visitors each year. Wander around the cobbled streets and witness the local shopkeepers in period dress, selling old fashioned food, gifts, crafts and toys. A great opportunity to find unusual Christmas gifts and to enjoy the hog roast with a glass of mulled wine. St Mary's will be attending with a stall full of Christmas cards and gifts.

Light up a Life is the opportunity to remember and honour significant people in our lives. In return for a donation, a light will be placed on the Hospice tree. The lights shine as a celebration of the life of someone who has been dear to us. There will be two Light up a Life services this year.
